This page describes how content on CalcFern is produced, checked and corrected. The site is written and maintained by one person, Eisa Akber.

Tools and reference tables

Unit converters use conversion factors taken from the SI definitions maintained by the BIPM and NIST. The converter code and the tables on each page are generated from a single dataset of those factors, so a value on the page and the value the tool computes always agree. New or changed factors are checked against at least one authoritative reference before publication.

Health and finance calculators

Each calculator states the published equation it uses, cites the source (peer-reviewed paper or public-health body such as WHO, CDC, NHS, EFSA, National Academies) and lists the known limitations. Results are estimates for healthy adults or general educational examples; they are not medical, nutritional, legal or financial advice.

Articles and guides

Guides are written by the author. Where a guide contains computed tables, those are generated from the same dataset as the tools and are labelled as such. Articles carry a publication date and, when substantively changed, an updated date.

Automation

Code is used to compute conversion factors, tables and worked examples so that they are exact. It is not used to mass-produce articles. In August 2026 a batch of templated articles and demo tools was removed from the site because it did not meet this standard.

Corrections

Errors reported through the contact page are checked and fixed on the affected page; substantive fixes are noted with the date. If you find a wrong factor or formula, please include the value you expected and where it comes from.

Advertising

The site may display advertising to cover hosting costs. Advertising never affects which tools exist, what they compute or what the guides say, and results are never withheld behind ads or sign-ups.
